The Round-Up: Third Edition

Alright, it’s been a few weeks since I posted one of these. I know.  But life gets busy sometimes. We’ve all been there.

In my time away, I’ve had a better chance to gather some delicious items for The Round-Up.

Someone you may not have known was a singer: Seth MacFarlane.  You know him as the man/voice behind the animated series Family Guy, and you’ve probably heard him sing on that show as well.  Now he’s released a full album, full of classic jazz standards and all sorts of goodness.  Check it out on iTunes.

My not-so-guilty pleasure: Glee. Yeah, I said it.  GLEE.  I freaking love this show, even if the plot is ridiculous and isn’t realistic at all.  I don’t care.  I’m a sucker for anything musical theatre, and I myself was a show choir geek in high school. I highly recommend you check it out Tuesday nights.  In the mean time, enjoy the song that started it all.

Song I need to learn to play:  “Uncharted” by Sara Bareilles.  I absolutely adore Sara Bareilles, and love her mad piano skills.  I wish I had half the creativity she has.

——

App I’m totally loving right now: forScore.  It allows you to upload PDF files of sheet music to your iPad.  You can then make notes, turn pages easily, and all kinds of stuff!  So much easier than lugging around a bag full of music! Available for download in the App Store.

——

Your new favorite drink: Apple Pie.  I discovered this recipe from my dear friend Joe, who brought a flask full of it to my wedding.  It’s like a slice of pie in liquid form.  With some alcohol thrown in the mix.  It’s amazing.  You can find the recipe here.

So that’s it for this week.  Enjoy!
